I have done a lot more with graphite and grayscale than I have with color. I am not the best with incorporating color but I really like the way some paintings look. Even though I have a long way to go in regards to painting and color in general, I still like to watercolor paint when I have the time to do so. I have tried guache as well, which is another water soluble paint for those that aren’t familiar with guache, but guache is much more opaque than traditional watercolor. I have seen some incredible paintings done with watercolor and guache. Below is some of the watercolor paintings that I have made. These are nothing special, only different cartoon style animal illustrations that I used watercolor to paint.
These watercolor paintings didn’t turn out bad but they are fairly basic. Some of the paintings that can be made with watercolor paint though is incredible and if I had to choose one type of paint to use and improve my skills with, it would be watercolor. Watercolor is one of the most forgivable mediums since even after it dries, it can be re-wet, and still moved around. It’s also a very portable paint, which is why most painters that like to paint landscapes outdoors, choose to use watercolor paint. What animal is your favorite painting?
